Tasks are a way to divide up the overall workload. They help transform what seems daunting into something that’s more manageable and approachable. With Ganttic, Tasks are assigned to Resources, designating the work that needs to be done.

Tasks in Ganttic
In Ganttic, tasks are the jobs you assign to resources. This means they can be assignments for people - for example designing new wireframes for your development team. Tasks can also be bookings for machinery or rooms - such as the time when the bulldozer is on a job site. You can also use tasks as a reminder - for example a company retreat or a meeting.
Since Ganttic is a visual planner, you’ll find all your tasks directly from the Views, on the Gantt chart. With each task being represented by a Taskbar.
Once you’ve added all your resources to Ganttic, you can begin creating and scheduling Tasks. From there, adding Task Data Fields allow you to include specific information regarding your newly created jobs. Information such as Task status, Google doc links, GPS coordinates, necessary certifications, and more.

Depending on your workflow, a simple resource schedule of standalone bookings might be enough. Or it might just be the beginning. In Ganttic, there’s always the option of linking Tasks to Projects or even to one another via Task Dependencies.

With the drag and drop feature, schedule a Task directly to a Resource for super fast booking that kills 2 birds with one stone. Alternatively, you can complete your WBS first, leaving the new Tasks unassigned until you’re ready to book Resources.
