Depending on your planning needs, some of your Tasks may need to overlap with one another. In Ganttic, it’s simple to book Resources for multiple Tasks that occur at the same time. Find out how.
Must Know
- All Owners, Admins and Users with Add/Edit Resource Task permissions can schedule overlapping Tasks.
- Add a new Task by dragging and dropping directly upon an already scheduled Task. Or by using the + icon next to the Resource's name.
- There’s nothing in your planner that will prevent you from scheduling overlapping Tasks. If you’re looking to avoid scheduling such Tasks, Resource Utilization Graphs can be enabled which will warn you of any overallocation.
Creating Overlapping Tasks
- Open a Single Project or Custom View.
- On the Gantt chart, create a new Task by clicking the + or drag and drop a Task to a Resource.
- To the same Resource, add another Task in the same time period. This will create concurrent Tasks for the Resource. You can add as many of these overlapping Tasks as you like.
