The Time Period is the visible time period of the calendar that’s shown on your planner’s Gantt chart. This is the default period you see everytime you open that specific View. Even though the planner adjusts itself to comply with actual Calendar time (it's dynamic), you can still use a different Time Period option for each View separately depending on plans. See how!
Must Know
- This feature allows a different default visible Time Period for each Custom and Single Project View.
- All Owners and Admins can adjust the Time Period. Users with Change View Settings permissions may also set the Time Period.
- The Time Period can be set using predefined presets or custom built.
- In a Single Project View, the Time Period can be based around the Project’s duration, which is predefined.
- You can change the Time Period temporarily to check in on the future state of affairs, or save it as the permanent option for that View.
- Your View will adjust itself with actual calendar time.
Setting the Time Period for a View
- Open either a Single Project or a Custom View.
- At the top, click on the Time Period icon. This will open the Time Period section.
- Choose the time period that fits your plans best. Select a starting point (from) on the left and the end (to) at right.
These can be customized by clicking the arrows below. Two days from today, 5 weeks from now, or 9 months out, whatever period your plans fall into. - If you wish instead, choose one of the Preset Periods at top. These are shortcuts to common timing options.
- For Single Project Views it is possible to set a Shifting Time Period that reflects the Duration of the Project - the period from the first to the very last Task. Select this if desired.
- Hit Apply to see the Time Period temporarily. Or Apply and Save to apply the selected Time Period to the View permanently.
- See your View with its new Time Period.
