Must Know
- Owners and Admins can invite new Users in bulk to their Ganttic accounts.
- When Users are invited, they will receive an email walking them through sign-up. Then they can join your account.
- You can invite an unlimited number of Users to your account.
- Invited Users can be added to a User Group. Meaning when they join, they will automatically be given certain Rights specified for the entire Group.
- If you invite a User who has their own Ganttic account with the same email address, make sure your Ganttic account has a name. Once invited, they can switch between the 2 or more accounts.
- New Users can also be added directly to your account.
Before You Begin
User Types
Before you add new Users to your account, it’s important to understand the differences between the 3 User types in Ganttic:
- Owners can access all areas, items and functions of the system, including the Account page to manage the subscription and billing details.
- Administrators can access all areas, items and functions of the system by default, except for the Account Page.
- Users have to be given rights to see, add, or edit selected items (Resources, Tasks, Reports, Data Fields, Views) or to access non-public Views.
The ability to add other Users works top-down based on the type. Owners can add any type, including other Owners. Admins can add other Admins, as well as Users.
Name Your Account
In Settings > Account name your Ganttic account. This is necessary if you want to invite Users from different existing Ganttic accounts to join yours.
Inviting Users to your Ganttic Account
- Open the Users section. You can find it on the left Sidebar near the bottom. The User List will open.
- At the top of the List, click on Invite Users. The User data section will open.
- Choose if the Users you invite will be added as Owners, Administrators or Users. Owners can add any type, including other Owners. Admins can add other Admins, as well as Users.
- Select an existing User Group if you want the new batch of Users to be included in this Group. This is optional.
NB! Only Users can be added to User Groups (not Admins or Owners). All Users within the Group will take on the Group's Rights. - Add your invitees’ email addresses. Use commas, semicolons, spaces, or line breaks to separate.
- Hit Send Invitation. Your invitees will receive an email guiding them through the Ganttic signup process. After that, they’ll have access to your plans.
Troubleshooting
Email in Use
If after hitting Send Invitation, you get this message: “Some email addresses are already in use,” you can still invite that User to join your account. Just know that this User is already part of an existing Ganttic account and therefore you cannot manage their login password.
Just hit Invite all after receiving the message. The invited User will get an invite emailed to them. After they confirm, they can switch back and forth between their original Ganttic account and the new one they were invited to.
Invite Error
If after hitting Send Invitation you get this message: “No invitations sent. Please check the addresses,” you have 2 options.
- There’s a typo in one of the emails. Simply fix and resend.
- One of the emails you tried is already tied to your Ganttic account. Check your User List.
