The Gantt Chart view is the central planning interface in the Ganttic mobile app, providing a visual timeline of all your scheduled tasks, projects and resources.
Must Know
- Only starred resources appear in your Gantt chart view
- Task creation and editing options depend on your access rights set in the Web App - if you need more permissions, please turn to your Account Admin/Owner
- You can navigate through different time periods using the Calendar Header, or select custom timeframes for a more tailored view.
- You can change booking color-coding via ☰ main menu: choose task or project colors.
- Offline mode: Mobile App can be accessed offline, but you won't be able to create or edit tasks in offline mode
1. Navigating the Gantt Chart
Open the Gantt Chart by tapping on the Gantt icon in the bottom navigation bar.
The Calendar Header line displaying the current time period is both clickable and scrollable. You can:
a. Scroll horizontally across the Calendar Header to move forward or backward within your currently selected time level
b. Click directly on the Calendar Header items (Day, Week, Month, or Year) to switch between different time periods.
c. Use landscape mode for a better overview of your Gantt chart.
d. Choose between Custom Time Presets: access up to three preset time periods from the ☰ main menu in the Gantt view.
e. Use the edit button on the right side to adjust their length to fit your needs.
2. Add Resources to your Gantt view
Add Resources to your Gantt View to view tasks and bookings in the Gantt chart, you must first select Resources.
When no Resources are selected, a notification will state "No resources selected":
To add them, go to the Resource List and tap the star icons.
Once selected, their schedules and tasks will appear in the Gantt view.
3. Search Resources
Use the search function from the menu ☰ in the top right corner to quickly find specific resources when working with large teams or equipment inventories.

4. Filter Resources
From the menu ☰ in the top right corner, open the filtering option located below the search function to quickly adjust which resources are displayed in the Gantt chart view.
a. Tap the filtering option labeled by default Starred resources below the search bar.
b. Choose what you want to display:

Unassigned – when you check the Unassigned option, Unassigned tasks/jobs will appear and will be included in your filtered Gantt view.

All resources – displays every resource from the Resource List in the Gantt chart.

Starred resources – shows only the resources you’ve marked with a star in the main Resource List.
- Filter by data – lets you refine the list based on specific criteria
NB! Filtering options depend on the data fields configured in your account setup.
Filtering helps you focus on specific groups of resources, such as locations or teams.
Expand the “Filter by data” category and select the options you want to include.
After selecting your preferred filters, tap the checkmark (✓) in the top right corner to apply them.
Your Gantt Chart will instantly update to show only the matching resources.
5. Create New Tasks in Gantt View

There are two ways to add Tasks in the Gantt View. Task creation options depend on your access rights.
a. Use the + button in the bottom right corner to add new tasks directly from the Gantt View.
b. Long-press on a Resource timeline to add a Task.
This method is especially useful for assigning the same booking to multiple Resources, as you can select additional Resources using the checkmark boxes. After selecting Resources, click the top checkmark button to add Task details.
Tip! You can add additional resources to an existing task by long-pressing the task. This will display checkmarks next to available resources. Simply tap the checkmarks for the resources you want to add, then tap the ✔ (checkmark) button in the top-right corner to save.
6. Editing & Viewing Task Details
Tap on any booking in the Gantt chart to view and edit Task Details. Change the needed information and save with the checkmark button.
NB! Editing capabilities depend on your access rights.
When you tap on a Task, you'll see complete details including Task name, start/end dates/times, busy time, Task duration, utilization percentage, assigned Resources, Project name, Task color, Task Notes, and delete option.
From the ☰ main menu (top right) of a task, you can access its Project Details or select Delete Task.
7. Activating Push Notifications for Task Notes
To receive push notifications for Task Notes (Project and Resource level) in the Ganttic mobile app, you must first enable them from the web app by following the steps outlined in the Project Notifications and Resource Notifications articles.
8. Task Visualization Options
To set color-coding, open the ☰ main menu, then go to Taskbar coloring. You can choose to display colors by individual tasks (default) or by projects.
NB! This will return to the default Task coloring if you logout of the mobile app.

9. Agenda Access
On the right side of the screen, next to the resource name, tap the Agenda icon to switch from the Gantt chart to a daily task view.
