From here you can determine the default time intervals for Tasks. This is also where the default Task Timing options can be selected.
Must Know
- Only Owners and Admins may edit Task Timing and Time intervals.
- Default time interval determines if when creating a Task, your Task will snap to an all day, one hour period, or to the nearest 15-minute interval.
- Task Timing is the way in which Task length is calculated. Either by setting the Start and End Dates, by Duration or via Busy Time and Utilization.
- These settings are the default, but both time intervals and Task timing can be changed for each individual Task in the Task Edit Dialog.
Set Default Task Time Interval
Start from Settings > Task Timing. Find Ganttic's General Settings at the bottom of the left Sidebar with this icon.
- Choose the Default Task Time Interval.

- Choose the Default Task Timing Option.
- Set Start and End Date - Schedule a Task by defining its start and end dates/times.
- Set Duration - Schedule a Task by defining its length in calendar time (non-business days and hours included).
- Set Busy Time and Utilization - Schedule a Task by defining its length in business time (Busy Time) and load % (Utilization).
- For the last 2 options, you can decide if you want to start from the beginning of the task, or its prospective end date. Choose between Calculate start time or Calculate end time. The highlighted setting will be calculated by Ganttic.
- Click on Save Task Timing Settings.
See your Settings in Action
Click on a Task to open its Edit Dialog. The Task Timing parameters you selected will be highlighted green. The others will be calculated by Ganttic automatically. The rest can be inserted manually.
NB! Despite this option being the default, it is possible to change the timing used for each individual Task via Task Edit Dialog's timing tools.
