Whether you’re making space in your resource pool or downgrading to a smaller subscription plan, find out how to delete unnecessary Resources from your planner. And if you make a mistake and delete the wrong person or vehicle, it’s simple to restore it. See how!
Must Know
- Only Owners and Admins can delete or restore Resources.
- Resources can be restored 30 days after they are deleted - anything longer than that cannot be recovered.
- If you want a less permanent option, try Archiving Resources instead.
Deleting Resources
- Select your Resource and click to open the Resource Edit Dialog. Do this from the Resource List or any Custom View.
-
Click on Delete resource from the Dialog toolbar.
-
Confirm the action in the pop up. Hit Ok.
- The Resource is deleted from the List and Views. All third-party calendar syncs, notifications, and reminders are disabled. The Resource’s Tasks will also disappear if no other Resources are assigned to it.
Restoring Resources
- Open the Resource List. The icon is found on the left Sidebar.
-
Click on the ellipsis on top right. Select DELETED (LAST 30 DAYS).
- Click on the Resource you want to recover. The pop-up window will open.
- Click Restore resource from the toolbar.
- Confirm the action in the pop up. Hit Ok.
- The resource will be back in the Active section on the List and in selected Views.
- Restoring a Resource will restore its timeline along with all Tasks that were there before it was deleted. Calendar syncs, Notifications, and Reminders need to be restored manually.
NB! Make sure your subscription plan can support the Resources you restored. Check or upgrade from Your Account.
Next Steps
If you want a less permanent option to clean up the Resource pool, you can Archive Resources instead. Archived Resources cannot be scheduled, but all their data is stored in the planner. Plus, they don’t count toward your Resource total in the pricing plans.
