The Resource List is the place to manage your resource pool. Add new Resources, manage their Data Fields, archive or dearchive Resources, restore or delete them permanently. See everything that can be done within Ganttic’s Resource List.
Must Know
- The Resource List is an overview of your planner’s resource pool and a place to add, open, delete, or archive Resources individually or in bulk.
- All Owners and Admins can access and edit the Resource List. All Users have access to the List, but will see only the ones they have Add/Edit or View Resource Timeline permissions for.
- The Resources added to the List are numbered, making this a good place to keep track of your total Resource count, which is the basis for all PRO subscription's pricing.
- Resource Data Fields can be used for filtering or sorting the Resource List and can also be added from here.
- Resource Notes can be read directly from the List.
- Resources deleted in the last 30 days can be restored via the List.
Opening and Navigating Around the Resource List
Open the Resource List by clicking on the Resources icon. You can find it on the left Sidebar.
You’ll see a complete list of Resources, their corresponding color, icons, Data Fields, date created, updates, and if there’s any Notes related to the Resource. Active and Archived resources' folders are also available.
NB! The number next to the Resource name indicates the order in which the Resource was added to the planner. This number cannot be changed. The order you see Resources can be rearranged.
At the top of the List is the Resource List Toolbar. From here you can:
- Add new Resources
- Add and edit Resource Data Fields
- See the Resource History (only Owners & Admins)
- Toggle between Active/Archived Resources
- See which Resources have been deleted in the past 30 days (only Owners & Admins)
Column Headers
Below the Toolbar are the Column Headers. These can be customized in a number of ways.
Change the Order of Column Headers.
Click on the column header and drag it to either the right or left.
Change the Width of Resource List Columns
Hover between the columns until a drag arrow cursor appears. Click and drag to stretch out the columns.
Organizing the Resource List
You can also customize the order your Resources appear or filter some out completely.
Sort Resources by Data Fields.
- Click on the Data Field header at the top you’d like to sort by.
- An arrow will appear. Click to sort from the beginning or the end.
Sort Resources Manually
- Click on the Resource.
- Drag it up or down on the list. Release when finished.
Filter Resources by Data Fields
- Click on the Data Field header at the top you’d like to sort by.
- Type in the criteria or select a value from the list (available only with List Data Fields)
Managing Resources from the Resource List
Here's a few more things that can be done from Ganttic's Resource List.
Open the Resource Edit Dialog
By clicking on any Resource you will open the Resource Edit Dialog.
Bulk Deleting and Archiving
By clicking the Box next to the Resource name, more options will appear in the Resource List Toolbar. Choose if you want to Archive or Delete the Resource. Or click the Box next to multiple Resources. Archive and Delete in Bulk.
Read Resource Notes
Existing Notes can be read from the List without opening a Resource Edit Dialog. You can also add and edit more Notes after clicking the Note icon.
NB! Blue icons indicate how many Notes are added in total for the selected Resource. Red ones indicate the number of unread Resource Notes. Total number of Notes (blue icon) will be displayed all the time.
